Shot on vivid 16mm film over a three-year period, ANONYMOUS CLUB chronicles notoriously shy, Melbourne-based musician Courtney Barnett’s ups and downs on the world tour for her album Tell Me How You Really Feel. Featuring Barnett’s unguarded narration from her audio diary, recorded on an dictaphone provided by filmmaker Danny Cohen, the film delivers frank and unprecedented insight into Barnett’s creative process, the sacrifices and inner conflicts set in motion by fame, and the sometimes dark backdrop to her whimsical, relatably poetic compositions.

tom petty: somewhere you feel free – die entstehung von wildflowers

Anfang 2020 tauchte eine Sammlung von 16mm-Filmen im Archiv des legendären Künstlers Tom Petty auf. Gedreht während einer fruchtbaren Songwriting-Episode seines Lebens, in der er „“Wildflowers““ als Doppelalbum herausbringen wollte. Tom Petty war bekannt dafür, sein Privatleben und kreative Prozesse vor der Öffentlichkeit verborgen zu halten. „“Somewhere You Feel Free““ gibt 90min lang Einblicke in Toms ehrliche und musikalisch reiche Welt zur der Zeit, in der das erste Album in Zusammenarbeit mit dem legendärem Produzentem Rick Rubin entstand. Nie gesehenes Filmmaterial und Augenzeugenberichte Mitwirkender beleuchten die Entstehung von Toms Lieblingsalbum Wildflowers.

ja, auch wir haben wetten dass angeschaut … und sehr schnell wurde klar, wie souverän insbesondere thomas gottschalk, der in den letzten zehn jahren offenbar der um keinen tag gealtert ist, diese aufgabe meistern würde. schon ganz am anfang, als der grosse alte mann der guten alten fernsehzeit einfach nur da stand und den minutenlangen applaus mit einem dezenten lächeln entgegen nahm, war klar: der thommy, der würde einmal mehr allen zeigen, wie man eine derart übertriebene veranstaltung richtig macht. gänzlich ohne netz, sondern so richtig live. >>>

hachja, was soll ich sagen … nach nunmehr sechs jahren emsiger fleissigkeit sind bei unserem getreuen router heute morgen um kurz nach zehn buchstäblich sämtliche lichter ausgegangen.

um ersatz wurde sich natürlich längst gekümmert, allerdings dürfte es in den nächsten ein, zwei tagen hier doch eher geruhsam zugehen. bis demnächst. zwinkersmiley.
